Who we are and scope

Mình Ơi is a dating app for adults aged 18 or over, operated by ODERYN Studio (contact: oderynstudio@gmail.com). This policy explains what the Mình Ơi app and its server collect, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it and your choices. It applies to the Android app and to the iPhone version when it is available. It does not replace the ODERYN website privacy notice.

Information you give us

Sign-in: a Google or Apple sign-in, or a phone number with a one-time code. With Google or Apple we use only the provider’s stable account number; we do not read your email address, name or photo from it. A phone number is stored only as a keyed hash; the number itself is passed to our SMS provider to deliver the code. Profile: name, birth date, gender, who you want to meet, what you are looking for, city, languages and your level in each, an optional note and optional nationality, and up to six photos. Other members see your name, age (not your birth date), city, intent, languages and photos, never your phone number, birth date or gender settings. Messages you send to people you matched with.

Information created as you use the app

Likes, passes, matches, chat state, reports and blocks, used to run daily limits, chat capacity and safety. A device push token for the notifications you turn on; notifications never contain message text or names. Purchase records from Google Play when you subscribe to Core; we never receive card details. Server logs with the request route, status and time for security and abuse prevention; we do not log message text, tokens or phone numbers.

Location

Location is optional and used when you turn on Nearby now. Your phone sends the location coordinates supplied by the device; their precision depends on device permissions and the available location provider. The server converts them to an area of roughly 1 km for storage and nearby matching. Other members see a distance band, never the coordinates. The area stops being used when the 30-minute session stops or ends and is removed through the session cleanup. The app does not continuously collect location in the background.

Photos, safety checks and human review

Every photo is re-encoded and its embedded data, such as GPS location and camera details, is removed before storage. Photos are checked automatically for explicit or violent content and for a visible face on your first photo; unclear results and possible copies are reviewed by a trained person, and rejected photos are deleted. Messages are checked as they are sent for prices for time together or requests to send money first; such a message is not delivered and opens a safety case a reviewer can read. The optional Real person badge uses a selfie in a requested pose that a reviewer compares with your first photo; the selfie is never shown to others and is deleted once decided. When you report a message, a copy is kept as evidence for that case.

Translation

Free translation runs on your own phone and sends nothing to us. Core translation sends the selected message text to Google Cloud Translation only when both people in the chat have agreed. The original message is always kept and shown.

Who processes data for us

We use service providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions: Google Cloud (servers, photo checks with Cloud Vision, Core translation, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, Google sign-in), Supabase (database), Cloudflare R2 (photo storage), Twilio (sign-in codes by SMS), Apple (Sign in with Apple) and Google Play (subscriptions). These providers may process data outside Vietnam. We do not sell personal data, show advertising or use an advertising ID, and we do not collect contacts, call logs or browsing history.

How long we keep data

Account and profile records remain while you use the service. An account-deletion request hides the profile, revokes access and starts removal of photo files and other associated data; a storage failure may require a retry. Previously sent messages can remain in a separate safety record so recipients can raise a report after deletion. Account identifiers, deletion receipts, purchase records and report evidence can also remain. These are not necessarily anonymous records, and a deletion confirmation is not proof that every stored copy has already been erased. Ask support for the scope and expected timing of any remaining removal or necessary retention. Nearby areas are cleared through session cleanup; sign-in codes expire after five minutes. Logs and retained safety information must be limited to the relevant security, dispute or legal purpose.

Your choices and rights

Request account deletion in the app under Settings → Delete account. This hides your profile, revokes sessions and starts the deletion process. You can also request deletion without the app on the deletion page. You can hide your profile, turn notifications, Nearby now and translation consent on or off, and report or block anyone for free. For access, correction, consent withdrawal or another request under applicable privacy law, email oderynstudio@gmail.com.

Adults only

Mình Ơi is only for people aged 18 or over, and sign-up refuses birth dates under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, report the profile in the app or see our child safety standards.

Security and changes

Data travels over encrypted connections, and access to personal data is limited to what each task needs. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone locked and never share sign-in codes. We will date changes to this policy and tell you in the app before material changes take effect.
